Simple Website Re-Design
My second website for a retreat!
This time, an Art Retreat owned by professional artist, Elsie Evans (who is now my art teacher).
She approached to do a simple redesign on her website. The plans was to remove some pages, add more images includes pictures of students in the art studio, and feature Elsie and her artwork more prominently on the website.
What I thought would be a simple project ended up being a larger job because the original website was created on Squarespace 7.0 which is the outdated version. Instead of redesigning the old website, I needed to create a new website from scratch on Squarespace 7.1.
The biggest challenge however, was figuring out how to get all the photos and information on the website but still stay true to my clean and minimalist design aesthetic. I spent a lot of time working with Squarespace galleries to get the right balance.
Finding the logo font was also a fun challenge, but it was easily done. I think using this handwritten font adds some personality and warmth to the website.
Altogether, the entire project took exactly 4 weeks and we launched the new website on schedule. :)
