This project was INTERESTING… (in a good way)

I was contacted by a previous client (spaceadvisors.com) to redesign a website for a different business start-up.

Like most redesign projects, the previous website was on a different platform and didn’t look anything like what the founders of the company were hoping for.

They reached out with a clear vision, brand style guide and all the necessary creative assets.

In other words… a dream job.

They also agreed to be on my waitlist for a month while I finished another website project that I was currently working on and paid the initial deposit (a dream client).

So when I started designing this website, I knew it would be special.

I had to step far out of my comfort zone and learn all about construction technology, the challenges of remote building and the advantages of 3D-printed masonry.

I went deep into this niche, but you have to understand the people you’re designing for if you want to create the best website possible.

Especially when it comes to writing headlines and choosing imagery.

It cannot be a random assortment of words & pictures about your business.

It has to be an intentional attempt to communicate a clear message to a specific audience.

But what that message is… takes time and work to uncover.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to dive into this world and learn all about a topic that I never would’ve explored on my own. Projects like these make me feel extremely lucky to be a web designer.

There’s simply no doubting Claire’s skill. She turned our company website from a ransom note of half baked ideas into something clean and professional. This is the second time I’ve had the good fortune to work with her, and just like the first time, I’m quite satisfied with the results.
